Well, it’s here. Just when we though we had finally emerged from the shadow of broken, sleepless nights, Winnie has thrown us a change-up. Two weeks ago, we were able to get 5-6 hours of undisturbed sleep at the beginning of the night. Everybody was happy and rested. Now, we’re up every 45 minutes to shush her back to sleep, and she’s fighting like a wildcat to hang on, or she lay in her crib for up to an hour just talking to herself in the dark. It’s her brain maturing and her learning to handle a more adult-like sleep schedule. It’s her curiosity and her hyper-active desire to take in every detail of her environment over-coming her ability to fall asleep. It’s normal. But it doesn’t change the fact that it sucks.
